Some interesting stuff, recommended viewing for any David Lynch and/or vampire movie fan.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall
Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell and an awful lot of full frontal nudity... though not what you might expect. Jason Segel bares his soul in a very funny romantic comedy.

There Will Be Blood
Though this film came out awhile ago, I had no preconceived notions about it. Perhaps I put off viewing it because it had been lumped together in my mind with The Murder of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (a film as long and arduous to view as its title).
This film was gritty and real. Dirt, sweat, tears, blood, oil. Daniel Day Lewis was riveting, his character convincingly real and complex. He carried the whole show. Paul Dano did well, "He wants you too, Malakai, he wants you too..." The score was amazing, giving a powerful foreboding tone to the whole experience.

Boom Boom Sabotage
Check out this interesting interview with Ben Burden Smith of Mainframe Entertainment, which discusses motion capturing Tony Hawk and other local Vancouver skaters for "Tony Hawk in Boom Boom Sabotage".
I can't wait to see this film!
Face Recognition Update
I saw that Lindsay, Jim, and Darcy had given the face recognition a go, so I decided to run it again with an updated picture taken just moments before. I am happy with my results! I left the ladies in there, so Ashton Kutcher and Mike Myers didn't make the final cut.
Ayumi Hamasaki, Marisa Cooper's mom and the Hoff?! Awesome. Pierce Brosnan, hey? Maybe I can take over for Daniel Craig in a few years...
Face Recognition
I've always been fascinated with software that can recognize faces. Seems creepy. The newer Logitech webcams can superimpose 3d avatars over your face, or add accessories like glasses or moustaches. Needless to say, Google acquired the company that licensed the technology to Logitech...
I found a website, My Heritage, that will allow you to upload a picture of yourself and find celebrities that look like you. I found an old picture of myself with a screwed up face and bed head to test it out. I'm pretty happy with the results, thought the celebrities may not be flattered!
Maybe I should call these guys up and start a band.
Update: Bonnie's celebrity matches!
Bonnie's top match was actually James Spader, but I didn't include him in the collage
Mobile Games
I recently got a new phone and can finally download and play all the new games that are available. I am looking forward to playing around with some of the dev tools and finally being able to test Flash Lite on a real phone.
There is an interesting article worth reading over at MSNBC with some insights from the man himself, John Carmack.
