I stumbled upon some fascinating research papers and projects relating to graphics programming, animation, simulation and sketch-based interfaces on Michiel van de Panne’s site.

I found Sketching Character Motions and the Ski Stunt Simulator to be particularly interesting. The Ski Stunt Simulator reminded me of Brad Quick’s Dirt Bike.

These photos are incredible. The original photos were taken of the destruction, and then revisited and photographed from the same angle about one year later.

The first set is from Thailand, the second set is from Indonesia.

It feels irreverent, but I can’t help but think of Wayne’s World looking at the last two pictures of the second set (with the helicopter and the soccer game). CAR! Game On!
